Remembering and Honoring Tony DeMasi

Tony's dedication extended far beyond morning greetings. He was an integral part of the school community for decades, working 22 years as a school board member serving the Burke Town School, Caledonia North Central Supervisory Union and 天美传媒. He was known for his thoughtful insights, translating complex issues into simple, memorable perspectives. He believed deeply in investing in children's futures, famously stating that despite years of taxes, he hadn't yet paid his "full share" for the education of his three children.
His commitment to the schools was evident in his hands-on approach to facility oversight. He was often found in boiler rooms, understanding the intricacies of each school's infrastructure. He regularly drove to Lyndon in all weather, arriving early to meetings, reviewing and signing warrants and invoices, demonstrating his steadfast support for the education system. He served in various capacities, including chair, vice chair, and union negotiator, always listening intently to public comment and appreciating feedback . Tony also prioritized equity among schools, championing the needs of hands-on learners and the underserved.
Beyond his official roles, Tony was a kind and generous man. He found joy in simple pleasures, like driving to the West End Market in Newport for his favorite doughnut. His passion for the schools was evident even in his final days, as he was ready to join another board to continue fighting against state redistricting discussions.锘�
